Outlook notification flash preview of new emails

In Outlook, there is a small window preview that flashes for about 2 seconds whenever a new email is received. How do I turn that notification on or off?

Select File > Options.
Click Mail in the navigation pane on the left.
In the Message Arrival section, clear the check box 'Display a Desktop Alert'.
Click OK.
