Pasting unformatted text into the Notes section of a contact
How can I paste unformatted Unicode text into the Notes section of an Outlook 2007 contact? I couldn't find anything useful on Google and cannot find Paste Special (or the Edit tab, for that matter) in the menu bar of Outlook 2007 contacts.

Does Outlook 2007 have a Format Text tab in the ribbon if you're in the Notes section of a contact?
If so, click the lower half of the Paste button.
You can also try right-clicking in the Notes section to see which options are available.

There is a Format Text tab.
In Outlook 2003, pasting unformatted text can be done with the shortcut alt + E + S.
I believe the new shortcut in Outlook 2007 is alt + O (format) + V (paste) + S (paste special). It's longer than the 2003 shortcut.

In Outlook 2010, the following works for me:
1) Press the Menu key to activate the context menu.
2) Press T to select the Keep Text Only button.
3) Press Enter.

Also, alt + O + V + T works to paste unformatted text. While it requires one more letter than the Outlook 2003 shortcut, it does not require altogether more steps because it bypasses the Paste Special dialogue.
Is there a shortcut into the Notes section in Outlook 2010? In Outlook 2003, the shortcut was “:” followed by two tabs.

Re: Pasting unformatted text into the Notes section of a con
Ctrl + 5 does not work for me. The only shortcuts I can currently find are:
ctrl + r followed by 3 tabs; or
when first opening a contact, shift + 2 tabs

Sorry, I misunderstood your question (Ctrl+5 activates Notes when you're in the main Outlook window. There is no specific keyboard shortcut to activate the Notes box within a contact, as far as I can tell, so you'll have to use the Tab key as mentioned by you.
