Hi,
Weird question, but I'm trying to understand when/how Outlook saves the item to the Tasks or the Reminders list?
Sometimes the task I create goes to the Tasks folder, but sometimes it goes to the Reminders folder??? This is irrespective if the item has a actual reminder set (which was what i thought determined its storage location)...
Any clarity, just for learning purposes :)

How does Outlook determine when a task is a reminder?

Reminders is not a built-in folder as far as I know, so I assume it was either created by you or by a device that synchronizes with your Outlook. Does that provide a clue?
Does it make a difference which folder is active when you create a new task?

If its not a default folder, it may have been created by iTunes. I see my iPhone has a reminders category.
YES - if I am in the tasks folder, the item is stored in tasks. If I am in the reminders folder, the item is stored in reminders. Why do you ask? Do you suspect something?

Isn't that a reasonable explanation?Rudi wrote:if I am in the tasks folder, the item is stored in tasks. If I am in the reminders folder, the item is stored in reminders.
