Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
Saved appropriate folders and started it, now I don't know where to go to look at the Mailbox name let alone to change it.
Any ideas?

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
Tried that and it changed the Mailbox name, that's ok.
However, when I send a message to friends I type their first letter from the list, the list shows email addresses of these people as Jo Blo <joblow@live.com> or whatever.
When I type an 'a' I get AccessSolutions@live.com.au <accesssolutions@live.com.au>, so I don't get anything if I type a 'p' I should get Pat Thorn <accesssolutions@live.com.au>,which when sent should show Pat Thorn in the 'from' column but the name 'Tara Lauren' shows up instead.
So how do I associate Pat Thorn with <accesssolutions@live.com.au>?

I assume that you cannot find the name 'Tara Lauren' in File > Account Settings > Account Settings > Change...
One other place to look:
- Press Ctrl+6 to activate the Folder list.
- Select Suggested Contacts in the list of folders.
- Do you see Tara Lauren there? If so, delete this entry.
As a last resort, you could clear the entire "auto-complete" list:
- Select File > Options.
- Click Mail in the navigation pane on the left.
- Scroll down to the section "Send Messages".
- Click the button "Empty Auto-Complete List".
- Confirm.

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
Mine is not a POP3 or iMap account, it is an Exchange account, see pics.
AccessSolutions@live.com.au), however I changed that a day or so ago to Pat Thorn and it seems to have made no difference.
I have been through all folders lists (at least I think I have) and haven't found that name.
I will check again though. No sign of that name in any of those lists.
If I empty the Auto-Complete list won't I lose all the contacts? Of course it empties the list but it's easy to resurrect that list.
This pic is interesting, this is the Global Address list, no idea what they are??
On the Exchange box (one on the right), It used to have the email address (I have been through all folders lists (at least I think I have) and haven't found that name.

I'm pulling at straws here...and I know the link points to MAC, but maybe, just maybe the advice in this post helps trigger something to help resolve this...??

Clearing the autocomplete list does NOT delete any contacts. So I'd try that first.

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
I did that, then replenished it.
This looks interesting, it is from the Synch Issues folder. Could this related to the 2 Global Address list entries that appear to be the same.
This all happened when I had to no longer use Outlook Connector.
I added a new account (Exchange) before deleting the Outlook connector account, then uninstalled Connector, then deleted the Connector account.
On further investigation I noticed the server name correlates to the Synch pic. As Rudi said earlier, I am clutching at straws.

Have you considered changing your name to Tara Lauren? That might solve the problem...
Just kidding!

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
That's a bit radical, I would have to send an email to all my friends and acquaintances and business associates to let them know.
Do you have a good binary/hex/text editor?

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
Thanks again Hans.
I needed that to do a search for Tara in the pst and ost files, but no go.
I may never find out where to go next.
If I delete the current mail box and add the same named mail box, do you see any problems?

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
If the .pst file uses Unicode, the name Tara may be stored as 54 00 61 00 72 00 61 00 instead of as 54 61 72 61. Might be worth another look.
I'd move the current mailbox to another folder while Outlook is closed, then create a new one.

By the current mailbox do you mean "C:\Users\patrick\...\Outlook\AccessSolutions@live.com.au (1).ost"?

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
According to your screenshot, that is the data file you currently use.
But I'm starting to have doubts. Since you're using a Microsoft Live account, all settings are probably stored in the cloud, and synchronized with your local file. So 'Tara Lauren' may well pop up again even if you create a new data file. I don't know how to avoid that...

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
All fixed, all I had to do in the end was to go into live.com.au, sign in, select profile and VOILA there it was. So I changed it to my name in 2 places and all is good in the world.
Thank you Hans (mainly) and others for your time and interest.
Rui gave me the clues to use a web client to find it and change it.
