Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
You could try creating a new e-mail profile in the Mail (32-bit) control panel, and then create a new account with your live.com.au e-mail address. See if that works better.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
That is what I used to overcome the send/receive problem I had.
Then this name came out of the blue as it were.
Outlook works well except for that name that pops up.
Is that name defined in my Address book in Outlook? If so, how do I get into my Address book.
I know very little about Outlook.

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
Your screenshot referred to a mailbox 'Tara Lauren', not a contact. Did you ever create or use a mailbox with that name?
Best wishes,
Hans

I thought it was a contact not a mailbox, my lack of understanding of terms, sorry.
How do I access and change a mailbox name?

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
Mailbox = account (more or less). Your Account Settings screenshot showed only one account: the live.com.au one. That's why I asked if you had ever used an account named Tara Lauren. If not, I have no idea where that comes from.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
I have found 2 links:
https://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/ren ... tm#mfcmapi" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/out ... 3-mfcmapi/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
that is used to modify Exchange mapi.
What do you think, it is beyond my understanding, and I am reticent about using it.

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
I'd stay away from the MFCMAPI tool - it is very technical, and you'd run the risk of accidentally damaging your .pst file.
Best wishes,
Hans

I understand your hesitancy for me to use it. But it seems it is the only tool I can use.
What if I save the .pst or .ost file first?

You could create a backup in another location, then try the tool...

You've put the wind up me, I will try it tomorrow.
I hope that is all I have to save first.

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
If you backup your .pst file(s), you don't have to worry - if things go wrong, just move the backup files to your Outlook folder, overwriting the existing files.
I'd make the backup just before using the tool.

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
Thanks Hans, I needed the encouragement to try this, I hope I get it right, because emails that come in address me a Tara.
I suppose I could change my name.

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
I have 2 attachments that show the .pst and .ost, would you tell me which file to use with MFCMapi.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Outlook 2010 stopped send/receive
I think you can safely ignore the *.pst and *.ost files with dates in previous years. In fact, I'd archive them on a backup disk, then delete them from your C: drive. They only take up space.
The same probably goes for the files dated 28/06/2016 - they are probably left over from recent attempts. But I'd leave them alone for the moment.
I'd run the tool on the files Outlook.pst and AccessSolutions@live.com.au(1).ost in C:\Users\patrick\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook.

The big Download button on http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; provides it.
Best wishes,
Hans
