Minor annoyance: little window at top of online newspaper ..

Post by ChrisGreaves »

(forum?)
Definitely not the biggest thing on my plate right now but annoying (and useless) nonetheless ...
Untitled.png
I am browsing, typically, an online newspaper.
A little menu bar appears at the top of the newspaper window.
I can't work out how to close it; the "More Options" button just doubles the consumption of space until I toggle it.

Why is this annoying? because when I PgDn one page to read more of the article this silly little bar hides the (new) top line of the screen; i have to wiggle things to read that missing line.

Why is this useless? Because I read the newspaper; I do not subscribe to Reddit, Blueit, Purplit or any other service.

If there is an easy fix I'd love to hear it.
Thanks.

Oh yes, sorry:

It's up to the designer of the web page to make it possible to remove this bar.
Best wishes,
Hans

What does the hamburger icon do above the printer icon? Any options in there?

Maybe reading mode (if the browser/page offers it) will be better to use.

Rudi

Rudi, you're looking at it! That's the second line of crud, immediately below my purpled outline.

"Reading Mode"? (wanders off to see what that might be ....)

Thanks Rudi.
I just checked (quickly) with a few newspaper pages but I don't get that reader-icon.
I'll check again next time that annoying 1/2 liner pops up.
