How to set "Show my home page" when Firefox starts up

I set the option to "Show my windows and tabs from last time" when Firefox starts up. This worked fine.

I then set the option back to "Show my home page", but Firefox still shows my windows and tabs from last time.

Does anyone know how to turn this feature off?

I found several posts on other forums suggesting a reset of Firefox. See Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems. The article explains how to do so, and which settings are preserved and which aren't.
