Google search bar

Post by jmt356 »

On my former computer, I downloaded a tool that puts a small box in the upper right hand corner of IE that enables me to search the web by simply ty'ping into that box. On my current (new) laptop, such a box was preinstalled, but it is a "Bing" box (one that uses Bing, not Google). I want Google and tried googling it, but the only thing I find is the Google Toolbar, which has all these other features and not the simple Google search box. What is the name of that search box so I can figure out what i need to google to find it?
Regards,

JMT

You can configure the search box easily:

Click the little dropdown arrow on the right of the search box. You can search for additional search engines and manage them.

I have set Google and Bing, with Google as default. But you decide for yourself of course.

As far as I know this is part of IE 8 and may even been there for IE7. There is NO down load other than the "Find more providers" when you select the drop down arrow.

Thanks all. Is there a keyboard shortcut to get the cursor up there?

I did not know that. It also works in Firefox.
