Downloading large Files 3.2G

Post by MSingh »

Hi,

I'm trying to download a large recorded webinar which is 3.2 Gigs.
I have sufficient & uncapped bandwith.
However, the file only partially downloads even if I close all other programs.
Even if I right-click the link and choose "Save target as" it still only partially downloads the file.
Should I be using a download manager, if so can someone suggest a download manager which really works ?

Your assistance is appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Mohamed

Try using a different web browser to initiate the download

Internet Explorer 9 and later have a built-in download manager - see Download Manager.
Recent versions of Firefox also have a built-in download manager.
If you want a third-party download manager, try Free Download Manager. As always with 'free' software, if you decide to install it, be alert for offers to install extras.
Best wishes,
Hans

I can vouch for and definitely recommend Free Download Manager.
I've been using it for a few years and it has served me well. You can pause and resume, and it even can resume if your connection was lost during the process of downloading.

Rudi

Thank You Stuart, Hans & Rudi,
I'll try all suggestions and revert.
Yes, Hans I've noticed that the "free" stuff usually has extra bits, some quite difficult to get rid off.
Kind Regards,
Mohamed

If the download managers don't help, I'd say that the file you want to download may be corrupt on the server from which you are trying to download.
Cheers, Claude.
