I want to embed a word document into a PowerPoint presentation, so that it opens when I double click it during my presentation. I'm sure I have done this in the past, but I can't remember how.
I have inserted the object using Insert > Object > Create from file, and set the "Display as icon" checkbox
I can open the Word document when I am editing the slide show, by double clicking the icon, or right clicking and choosing Document Object
I can't see how to launch the Word object when I am displaying the slide show

In Edit mode, select the icon.
Activate the Animations tab of the ribbbon.
Click Add Animation > OLE Action Verbs...
Click Open, then OK.
Intuitive, isn't it?

Thank you. That is VERY well hidden.
I have also found the following method
In Edit mode, select the icon
Activate the Insert tab of the ribbon
In the Links section, click Action
