I have in a cell IF(A1=B1,"same","diff") .
How can I cause diff to appear in a colour other than black, if A1 is not the same as B1?
Thanks!

Conditional formatting....
Cell value is
equal to
diff
Set the format as desired.

Six minutes for you to reply (and before Hans!!); probably at least double that long for me to find Conditional Formatting in the Excel 2010 ribbon...
Later Which wasn't helped because quite some time ago I had removed Styles from all toolbars in Word and Excel as never likely to be wanted, and thus a waste of horizontal ribbon space...
