ComboBox in Excel 2007

Post by jstevens »

I have an Excel 2003 worksheet with a combobox created with the control toolbox (within Excel 2003) and would like to edit it with Excel 2007.

My challenge is that I cannot determine how to do it in Excel 2007. I have been going back to 2003 and making my changes there.

Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

In Excel 2007:
- Activate the Developer tab of the ribbon (*)
- Click the Design Mode button to turn it "on".
- You can now select the combo box and edit it.
- Don't forget to turn off Design Mode when you're done.

(*) If you don't see the Developer tab:
- Click the Office button.
- Click Excel Options.
- Tick the check box "Show Developer tab in the Ribbon".
- Click OK.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hans,

I found it and I appreciate your assistance as always.

Out of curiosity, why do you mention, "Don't forget to turn off Design Mode....."

If you leave Design Mode on, you won't be able to use the combo box (i.e. select an item from the dropdown list)...

Also I believe you won’t be able to run code while in design mode
