Web Query Problem (2003 SP3)

Post by steveh »

Morning all

I have been trying for the past hour or so to make a new web query in a new work book but Excel keeps crashing, please see the 2 images below. If I open an existing workbook that has web queries already on it and enable the refresh it works OK. I have tried Googling for possible reasons but I can't seem to turn anything up. Has anybody else experienced this and if so did they find out the reason?

Does this happen when you try to create a web query for a particular web page, or for any web page?
Best wishes,
Hans

Morning Hans

It was only one website that I was trying and I have now tried it from the office and it works OK, I know that it does not definitely prove that this web site was playing up earlier so I will try a few more from home this evening when I get in.

What happens if you deliberately try a website that doesn't exist (or is temporarily off-line)?
