Messages In Excel

Post by hlewton »

Sometimes when I open Excel it has a message like the one that can be seen in the attachment. It appears under the Quick Launch Toolbar, I believe it is called. I know all I have to do is click on the "x" to close the message. I don't want or need messages to pop up. Is there a way to shut them off so I don't see these kind of messages? Thanks

I've found two suggestions.

For some users, the following appears to work, but others mentioned that they still get these ads from Microsoft:
- Select File > Options.
- Select Trust Center in the navigation pane on the left.
- Click the Trust Center Settings... button.
- Select Message Bar in the navigation pane on the left.
- Clear the check box 'Show Policy Tips in the Message Bar'.
- OK your way out.

Others report success with the following:
- Select File > Options.
- Select Trust Center in the navigation pane on the left.
- Click the Trust Center Settings... button.
- Select Privacy Options in the navigation pane on the left.
- Click the Privacy Settings... button.
- Clear the check box Enable optional connected experiences.
- OK your way out.

Thank you Hans. I am curious as to how you searched for this. I never have been great at searching but I thought I was getting better. I was not able to come up with a search that came anywhere close to what you found. I am going to give them a try and hope it works.
