Somehow I managed to insert a number into thousands of cells that used to be blank. This worksheet has other good data.
The number only displays in the top box adjacent to fx. I tried Replace All with the entire sheet selected; "We couldn't find anything to replace."
If I select a cell that appears blank, the number shows in the top box.
How do I get rid of that number but keep other good data?
I will try a snip:
Number in cell does not display

Re: Number in cell does not display
Problem solved, by unknown forces. Excel crashed, rebooted, and when I displayed the file that had the error, it appears to disappeared. Gone into the ether?

Re: Number in cell does not display
Probably temporary memory corruption, causing Excel to crash.
Best wishes,
