processing mdb tables with 2003 excel

Post by tomyrush »

I have a project which requires importing individual tables from an mdb file into excel. I open the mdb file using excel and then build a clean new table by cutting and pasting into a new xls file.

The Name and address tables apparently have carriage return line feed characters separating the address lines- the char ret / line feed chars appear as an empty rectangle - don't know what the bit config actually is.

Once I have the data in an excel table, I need to force the row height's to provide the correct address layout (usually 3 lines).

One example is an address that is approx 60 characters long in the mdb file should wind up in one cell approx 20 characters wide with the cell height approx 3 normal lines high. It doesn't matter that all the lines in the table will be approx 3 lines in depth.

Any ideas will be appreciated

Tom

I figured it out -- not sure that the characters are carriage return line feeds, but i GOT AROUND THEM
