Add current selection to filter brings all the values?

Post by BittenApple »

Hello team,
I use add current selection to filter in Excel: I select first item and then click to apply, then filter drop down and and use second item, then click the add current selection to filter checkbox, the entire column is selected and first filter is gone.

Can anyone help me with this please?
Regards,
Bita

You have to use the search box.
For example, let's say you want to filter the items that begin with d or g.
  1. Click the filter drop-down.
  2. Type d* in the Search box.
  3. You should see the items beginning with d in the list.
  4. Click OK.
  5. You have now filtered all items beginning with d.
  6. Click the filter drop-down again.
  7. You'll see all items, and the check box of those beginning with d will be ticked.
  8. Type g* in the Search box.
  9. You should see the items beginning with g in the list.
  10. Tick the check box 'Add current selection to filter'.
  11. Click OK.
  12. You should now have filtered all items beginning with d or g.
Best wishes,
Hans
