The dragging of an object to the desktop does not work for me. Am I missing something?

Re: Drag object to desktop
I remember being able to use this in earlier versions of Word and Excel, but it doesn't work in Word or Excel 2007 on Windows 7. I can't find anything relevant about whether this feature has been discontinued, however.
Best wishes,
Hans

Thanks Hans. I'm on Vista Excel 2003 (which the book relates to) and it does not work. Not a problem, just a curiosity.

This works fine for me using Excel 2003 SP3 on Windows XP SP3, but not on my PC that has Excel 2007 SP2 on Vista SP2
I remember testing this years ago, but I've never actually had a use for it.

Re: Drag object to desktop
Apparently, desktop scraps (available in Windows XP) were considered to be a security risk, so they have been scrapped in Windows Vista and later.
See Scrap files scrapped.
