In Word 2010, in a document inherited from a user, on 5 of its 20 pages, the text (and figure if there is one), are centered on the page, top to bottom. The text (and figure) have the same style(s) as other text elsewhere in the document. The document has no section breaks. The Header & Footer Tools tab, Position section, shows 0.5" for Header from Top and 0.5" for Footer from Bottom, on all pages, including the 5 described. The Footer blue dashed line remains in the same place throughout the document. The Header blue dashed line position varies its distance from the header text. The remaining 15 pages look normal.
The document may have been converted from an earlier Word version.
I'm not finding a way to correct this problem. Any suggestions appreciated.

Re: Short Paragraph and Figure centered top to bottom
Have you looked at the Before spacing of the first paragraph on the "centered" pages, and/or the After spacing of the last paragraph?
Best wishes,
Hans

Yes. All paragraphs are formatted the same, 0 pt before and after.

Could you attach a sample document (with dummy text)?

See attached. Most everything is styled Normal, as received. Pages 2, 3, and 4 exhibit the varying top white space.

Oops, I had assumed that you'd have checked vertical alignment. This has been set to Center in the Layout tab of the Page Setup dialog.
Set it to Top instead of Center.
Set it to Top instead of Center.

Thanks Hans. I normally never mess with that tab; lesson learned.
