Word 2010 - largest paper size you can print

Post by MelanieB »

One of my coworkers asked why he can not print large page sizes anymore. He used to be able to print 40" x 34" pages in 2003, but now in Office 2010, you can't even see that page size in the choices (we are printing to a plotter.) When he tries with 2003, it works. Did Microsoft change the page size limitation in Office 2010? I googled and found one message in a forum that said the new limit is 22". Their suggestion was to print from PDF or get a 3rd party program.

Not an issue in Excel. Just Word.

Have you heard this?

The maximum page size that Word supports is 22" x 22". As far as I know, this has remained the same across all versions, see for example WD: Maximum Page Size of a Document Is 22 by 22 inches which applies to Word 2, 6, 95, 97 and 98.
Are you sure your coworker doesn't mean Microsoft Publisher? It handles page sizes of up to 240" x 240".
Best wishes,
Hans
