TOC number formatting

Post by agibsonsw »

Hello again. Word 2007.

I have formatted by page numbers within sections using a,b,c then 1,2,3 etc. How can I tell Word to include this number formatting within the Table of Contents?

Thanks, Andy.

Sorry, I don't understand the problem - in my screenshot you can see that Word uses "a", "b" for the section with page numbering a, b, c... and "1", "3" for the section with page numbering 1, 2, 3...
If that is not what you want, please explain what you expect it to be.
Best wishes,
Hans

Hi. I couldn't see your numbers on the right - my screen resolution was too low!

Yes the numbering on the right is picked up from the actual page numbering. But for i,ii, iii they seem to appear as I,II III (capitals) for a guy. I've told him it is not possible/very difficult to change this. Andy.

i, ii, iii shouldn't be a problem either:

Has he picked a TOC style that uses all caps or small caps perhaps?

Hi. Thanks for your responses. The problem has gone away. Perhaps he chose a TOC style that had all caps, as you suggest.
