Word 2007 Save File As Type message displays

Working in Office 2007 in Compatibility Mode

On Word 2007 documents when I perform a Save As, the Save File As Type message displays.

This is occuring only on newly imaged pcs.

Old pcs work successfully.

Ive checked and compared the File Associations on both existing and newly imaged pcs. The File Types and Associations for .doc & docx in windows desktop and registry items are the same.

any ideas?

Could it be from DMS integration? I don't think Word displays such a dialog natively. (Although I'm pretty sure I haven't seen every dialog Word is capable of displaying...)

yes this is occuring in a document management system Hummingbird DM 5.2-5

I thought it was DM not recognising the file type as the second DM profile screen sets the field "Application" as "M"

I did raise with the DM vendor but they mentioned it wasnt anything to do with.

In your document, it says this occurs for File > New -- is that correct? Perhaps there is code to choose a template based on the file format?

What is set as the default file type in Office button > Word Options > Save?

The default file type in Office button > Word Options > Save is "Word 27-2003 Document(*.doc)"

What happens if you set it to "Word Document (*.docx)"?
