Designing and Creating Templates

Post by BobH »

Having been unable to find a downloadable template that suits my needs, I thought I'd try to design one but soon ran into questions. Searching for answers is extremely time consuming. If I can't overcome that problem, I will have to abandon my project as I don't have time to spend on it now.

The attachments show what I want to have as the final result; the first showing placeholders and the second an example. I have forgotten how to insert variables in a template. I don't recall ever having set them up so that
I could enter the beginning and ending dates and have the variables provided by Word.

Is this a wild goose chase?

If not, could someone please point me to an article or how-to that will get me started?

 :chocciebar: :thankyou:

First, it is vital that you know what a Word template is. It is a special kind of Word file.

I think you have a more generic meaning in mind.

It looks like you are trying to prepare a daybook/calendar.

Here are some pages that may help you.

You are welcome.

P.S. The bulk of the templates you can download from Microsoft for Word are, IMHO, garbage. They are prepared by design professionals who are very good at making something look good but generally have little knowledge of Word features.
