Preparing a Forum Post in Microsoft Word

Post by Doc.AElstein »

Hi
Most people will use the Forum Editor to type in simple text when preparing a Reply for a Forum Post
Some will occasionally use the Icons in the Editor window to add the BB Code code tags which will produce in the final posted reply things like underlining, bold text, text color.

A minority of people prepare a post reply in a Word document and then copy across to the Forum Editor. Most people are still not too keen on that, but I think I noticed that the number of people doing it has increased a bit.

I always did that , and along the way wrote some codes to speed that up a bit. I find that it is actually quicker in the meantime than using a Forum editor. Most of the codes I have add BB Code tags, so duplicate what the icons in the Forum Editor do.

I wrote most of them with help from here, so I am just sharing a link or two to the info.

Most of the codes I keep backed up on a File here. I will probably add to and tidy up the codes there from time to time but this link will stay the same:
https://app.box.com/s/mtwz5jil0p5nbymqrb1cgszjuyg94bea" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Currently I have started some ExPlanations and notes, starting from about here:
http://www.excelforum.com/development-t ... ost4582901" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I will probably add to or tidy those notes up and post them possibly somewhere else. If I do I will edit the link here.

I don’t think too many Members here are interested in preparing posts in Word, but as I developed the codes mostly from help here I thought I would drop off a quick post to link the info.

I doubt if I will add anything significantly more, but if I do I will reply and detail it to bring the thread up, otherwise I will just edit the links appropriately if they change, and keep the file linked up to the latest stand..

Alan

Here are some of the Threads related to the development of the codes:

Do you have some notes in Word to explain how to circumvent having to register to read your notes in an Excel forum? :scratch:

Hi Lief
Leif wrote:..Do you have some notes in Word to explain how to circumvent having to register to read your notes in an Excel forum?...
…. I am afraid not, and If I did I guess I shouldn’t publish them , lol…… :smile:

I was not trying to encourage anyone to register there, I know a lot of members are already.
I am in the middle of starting to re organizing my notes somewhere else, that does not need you to register to view, and was going to add those links later…..
I have put the notes there temporarily for you just now :

Probably just the first few posts are of interest ( if any ! )
I will edit any links in this Thread if they do change.
( The links to Excel Forum will likely not change, as the edit time there is restricted )

So: They start from Post # 13 in this Thread:
