Hide doc properties & personal info not working - sharing
Hi, I have the option for personal info removal switched on for my document. However, when I share it with another person and they edit the doc resave it with another name and send it back to me their personal info is available. How can I stop this?

It's not really a document setting. It's an application setting. So you need to get them to make the setting in their copy of Word as well

I do not think it "hides" these things. It removes them.
At least if is the tool I'm thinking about.

Actually, it is a setting that is saved with individual documents.
Access it under File > Info.
Once you do remove such information once the setting is in the document until you change it. When you open it, you get a warning that the info will be removed.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

What I really meant is that it doesn't propogate* with the document, it is a point in time removal. I am well aware that you go through the File > Info to set it, but it isn't a setting that travels with the document. At least not in my copy of office. Nor in the OP's
* It can propogate if set in a template that the document is based on. Also there used to be a big that displayed the message you describe but the feature was not actually enabled

Hmm - I may just be out of date, actually. testing in my latest version of Office (2021) it does seem to stick with the document. Pretty certain older versions did not. But I may be misremembering as age eats my brain ...
(and, in which case., the original post is a biy of a puzzle; if the setting works as I seem to remember it, then the OP describes exactly what I'd expect. However, on at least Office 2021, it does NOT work like that, so what the OP describes should not be the case - unless, of course, the other user is clicking the 'change setting' option when they initially open the document, and just have not reported that action to the OP)
