MS Publisher 2010 2 bit under windows 7 64 bit
Create a new publisher letter sheet and insert picture as link not embedded
save document
change picture file used in document linked too and save it
open publisher document and linked picture has now been updated and you have to go to view - Picture Manager and click the drop down arrow for the picture file linked to and choose to update the link. This is the long way around to do this and the older versions had options to automatically update the links. 2010 does not and is there a way through a setting that I have not seen or through VBA to auto update picture links when publication is opened?

Re: MS Publisher 2010 - Auto update picture links
Welcome to Eileen's Lounge!
There doesn't appear to be any support in Publisher 2010 for automatically updating linked pictures; there is no support for updating linked pictures in VBA either.
My impression is that, although Publisher is being updated in each version, Microsoft's heart isn't in it any more.

Thanks for your comments on auto updating picture links. I agree as to their heart not being into Publisher any longer and was so hoping that there would be a work around other than manually updating the linked pictures.
