Thru a series of errors, I inadvertently set up XP to require a password. The password is requested every time the computer is idle for a while.
Is there any way to tell xp to forget about the pass word and run as if one was not set up?

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change an Account. Double-click the account you want to change. Select Remove my Password.
If it's just the Screensaver password you want to change, right-click on a blank area of desktop and select Properties, then the Screen Saver tab. Remove the tick from the box in front of "On resume, password protect".
