Evening -
(Win XP Pro, SR3_
Several weeks now when I go to update Adobe Air, I get error message saying I am not an Administrator I am. I have checked My Computer/Properties, and ‘Registered to’ shows Admin, Admin.
Checked User Accounts and I am the only account (default) When I login, it’s ‘default’
How to work around not being seen as the Admin.? Would a System Restore be called for?
Thank you!
(Haven't downloaded any new programs or changed anything on PC)

Re: Not being recognized as the Administrator
Can you use the Fix-it from Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled to remove Adobe Air, then re-install Adobe Air?
Best wishes,
Hans

You might try Revo Uninstaller Free.
Or make sure that AIR isn't running, then delete its folder...
By the way, do you really need AIR? I have long ago removed it since I didn't find any useful purpose for it.

Re: Not being recognized as the Administrator
As far as I know, I dont need--don't know what Air (runtime) does.
But, I wonder if other programs don't see me as an Admin???

Only time will tell. I'd uninstall Adobe AIR.

Re: Not being recognized as the Administrator
Thank you, Hans -
I have installed Voicezone Connect from Time Warner Cable (an app that displays caller ID on PC -- & Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Air are required.) I installed it Aug of '13 and, as I said, it's only recently giving me that Admin message.
A techie at Time Warner said 'don't worry that you can't update Adobe Air' Voicezone will still work. Since I find Voicezone convenient, I will live with the popup to update....
Thanks again

Re: Not being recognized as the Administrator
That's OK. If you would like to get rid of the message after all, try completely uninstalling AIR using Revo Uninstaller Free, or by brute force (delete its folder). Then reinstall AIR.
Best wishes,
Hans
