Keyboard Shortcut

Post by Dave Davison »

I know that Alt - F4 is assigned to File Close or exit but to make the action just that bit easier I have assigned Alt - Z [first finger and thumb action of left hand] I note that the newly assigned shortcut closes word docs but not folders, is there a way round this small obstacle please. :thankyou: Dave.

Keyboard shortcuts that you assign in Microsoft Word work ONLY in Microsoft Word, not in any other application - not in Notepad, not in Excel, not in Windows Explorer.

To assign custom keyboard shortcuts in Windows, you need a third-party utility, such as Clavier.
Best wishes,
Hans

Clavier is a good program and I've used it for some time now, in both XP and Windows 7.
