Been fairly quiet, so I'll post this which has been bothering me for a while.
Windows 7 with DSL 6100 modem. I seems to go offline after a Undetermined amount of idle time. No Internet connection or Email. I have to reboot the modem for a few seconds and it comes back on line OK.
I have tried to go to Modem properties to see if the go off line after so many seconds is unchecked but I can't even get to that point. I get this message.
Need more info?

Re: Idle timout Win 7
Try the following:
- Start a command prompt window.
- Enter ipconfig/all and press Enter.
- Look for the Default Gateway IP address - it will probably start with 192.168.
- Enter the IP address in the address bar of your browser and press Enter.
- This should start the admin page of the modem.
Hopefully you can view and set options there...

Checking Services, Telephony was disabled. I enabled it and that got me into the Phone and Modem Control Panel but no luck finding anything pertinent about the problem.

OK, I tried checking things out in the modem\router but didn't see any options about idle time settings.HansV wrote:Try the following:

Googling around, there were many hits on the subject but most seemed to refer to older OSs, including reg hacks but not Win 7?

Re: Idle timout Win 7
Just checking back into this thread. I still haven't been able to fix this annoying thing. Leave the system\modem idle for an unknown amount of time and the modem is offline? I tried the suggestions but no luck with them.
