Hi,
My PC is running hard in the background...something is either being updated or some service is active and causing Excel and other apps to respond slowly. How can I find out what is running and slowing down my PC as the description simply says "Host Process for Windows Services". I want to know what service is causing the PC to become sluggish?
Any ideas?

Re: PC Activity Question
In your screenshot, Chrome is using a lot of CPU time, while svchost isn't doing anything. Is there another instance that does use a lot of CPU time? (You can sort the list descending on CPU)
Also, have you ticked the box "Show processes from all users"?
When you see an instance that is using a large percentage of CPU time, right-click it and select 'Go to service(s)' from the context menu. This will activate the Services tab, with the services highlighted that use this instance of svchost.

TX. The tip to right click and go to services is handy.

Another thing that's useful is to go to the Performance tab and click the Resource Monitor button (or just run resmon.exe from the Start > Run box). It gives you more information about what's running.
