Hello, I always thought my various usernames were case sensitive, I tried to log in to another site where I had my username saved as TinyTim, when I tried to log in as tinytim It was accepted. I tried it here and its not case sensitive either. I this normal???
When I registered here I used Ted Myers, it would not look right if it was ted myers in my opinion.

Re: Usernames
I don't know of any usernames or urls that are case sensitive. Doesn't mean that there aren't any; only that I've never encountered any. Passwords, however, are case sensitive and sites might have special rules for their formulation as to length, characters, upper/lower case and special symbols including requiring or prohibiting them. You have to check the rules each webmaster imposes.

Re: Usernames
I've run into a couple of financial sites where the user names as case sensitive but that is all. In general, user names are case insensitive. But, as Bob said you have to check each site to be sure.

Re: Usernames
Thanks BobH & Joe, I seem to learn new things frequently.
If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have NO luck at all.

Re: Usernames
Usernames are usually case-insensitive. Passwords are always case-sensitive.

Re: Usernames
Thanks Hans, I have tried most of the sites needing a log in and usernames have not had any that were case sensitive.
