Windows Snippet tool replacement?

Post by viking33 »

Am I wrong or was there a thread about a snippet tool replacement? Snippet works fine for single screen clips but I'm looking for a freebie tool that will capture more than one screen, like a newspaper article that is longer than a single screen.
( I never have much luck with the search on the Lounge )

No, you are not. I think there have been several over the years, here and elsewhere.

Perhaps this (rather recent) thread: Screen capture over more than one screen in depth, with different software and links mentioned, is a good start.

(Several years ago I used the, then, free version (last one was v. 5.3, I think) of FastStone Capture to, eh, capture some pages. Later on changes in Fx meant that that version couldn't capture scrolling windows. Updates to FastStone Capture are often mentioned in Other Applications.)

By the way, please call me if you find a good one.

Hi Bob,

Have you tried using Google as a search too for Eileens? All you need to do is add the filter: site:www.eileenslounge.com into the search bar and the phrase or words that you want to search for. So, for example, the following will find many threads on Eileen's that will meet your requirements...

site:www.eileenslounge.com snipping tool

If I cannot find anything via Eileen's internal search feature, I turn to Google and force a site search on Eileen's with the phrase or key words I need. It works well.

Some more threads to add to the ones Argus suggested (via Google):

- Windows Snipping Tool
- Capturing Screens

Rudi

'Twas you who spoke about Google ... :blackteeth:

(Yes, I do that too, sometimes, when a site's search engine is stubborn. Not often with the Lounge though.)
