access blocked

Post by Dave Davison »

Just logged on and this message appeared on screen, does it suggest some attempt to hack my computer was detected and blocked? :thankyou: Dave.

Do you use an antispyware program such as Spybot Search and Destroy or Spywareblaster?
Best wishes,

Yes I just looked in the progs folder and see I have the former but must admit I -imprudently- have not run it for some time. I also note the settings in the top right corner should not read as they do but can't change them and clicking the "System Scan" button does nothing so maybe it needs re-installing? Please advise. Dave.

The Immunization feature of Spybot changes the Hosts file, but that is a manual action. If you haven't run Immunization recently, this is probably not the cause of the message that you got.

You could tick the 'Advanced User Mode' check box to see if you can change settings for Spybot.
Best wishes,
Hans
