Sync OneDrive from pc to cloud

Post by Peter Kinross »

I don't want to use OneDrive as a store for my files. No internet access = no files.
However, I do want to use OneDrive as a backup drive.
I.E. I want to sync from my pc to OneDrive in the cloud, not the other way around.
But I can't see how to sync one way from my pc to the cloud.
Avagr8day, regards, Peter

Be careful - the desktop OneDrive application currently causes problems in Windows 10; moreover it only provides two-way sync.

SyncDriver for OneDrive claims to support one-way sync, but the website doesn't mention Windows 10 (yet).
Best wishes,
Hans

OneDrive behavior is different between Win8.1 and Win10. With Win8.1 you had control over which files were actually synced to your PC. The files which were not could have a link on your PC to the actual file in OneDrive. In Win10 if you choose to sync a folder all the files will be synced to your PC. So, with the CURRENT OneDrive sync on Win10 you'll get all your files on your PC. Microsoft says they are working on returning the Win8.1 functionality to Win10 some time "soon". Then you'll get much more control over the actual content stored on your PC.
