In particular, I'd like to thank those who made an effort to get me this wonderful award (*)

Together, we create more than a discussion board: we form a community. This is very important to me - if it was just technical questions and answers, it would be interesting but not as much fun by half.

(*) You know who you are, Jan Karel, Wendell, Leif and Stuart!
I'm just back from drinking up the rest of the vino that Hans left in Tuscany (he left more than I expected, so it was a difficult job), and hopefully the jet lag (8 hours) won't make this totally unintelligible, but I wanted to belated add my "BRAVOs" to the chorus. It was obvious to me several years ago that you should receive it, and we kept prodding and poking and pushing, and finally enlisted some 'softies to the cause, and it eventually happened. I echo Claude's sentiment

Congrats Hans ! Well deserved !

Thanks, Wendell! I'm very grateful to you.

Welcome back home! I hope you enjoyed Tuscany as much as I did.

Wendell,

Let me know if you still have my address, so you know where to send those bottles you bought me.

Unfortunately, I think I lost the note I put that on, but not to worry, as we drank them on the way home. :wine: :yum:

May I add my sincere congratulations and eternal thanks to a generous guide and tutor who has travelled by my side from my first faltering and tentative steps into the complex world of computing.

"Never before have so many owed so much to so few..." well, maybe once before...

I think it may seem like such a long time coming because we have become used to Hans answering our questions before we've even finished typing them out! (seems like that to me, anyways  )

Thanks for all your excellent help, HV! and a BIG :fanfare:

I've expressed my gratitude (and by proxy, the thanks of the charity for which I work) many times. It's terrific that your knowledge and help is now publicly acknowledged. It's very well deserved.

Well done, and many congratulations.

Yes, I think. Also I have just been away in India for 10 days.
