Logging In and Not Being Recognized

Post by hlewton »

Many times when I log in it doesn't seem to get recognized and I have to log in the second time for it to recognize me. Is this a known issue? At first I thought I was making some kind of error since this has been happening frequently since Eileens went to the new server. I have been very careful to make sure my logins are done correctly but still I have to log in twice many times. Just curious.

Thanks
Regards,
hlewton

Others have reported similar problems, so it's probably a bug.

Hans

OK thanks. It's no big deal just wondering if I was the only one having this problem.

You are not alone! It happens to me all the time, - The bug did go away for a while but has now returned. Just a minor inconvenience really

Yes, I am now having issues logging in again using IE and Edge. Firefox and Chrome still work. Thank goodness!

It's a weird problem. My test user Dopje has logged in and out using Edge several times today, without any problems. But too many of you have been experiencing it
I wish I knew of an explanation and solution!

Maybe I'm mistaken but I seem to recall having this same issue before the server change was made. Am I remembering correctly? Or maybe this is what I was thinking about http://www.eileenslounge.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=26386 After reading this link I think they are totally separate issues.

The problem in that thread has been solved - Eileen's Lounge now works fine with https://, so the warning about an insecure connection shouldn't appear any more.

Well just had another experience when trying to post a new thread. I was definitely logged in. I know because I not only look for my name in the upper right of the screen but I also check to see if I can view my posts by clicking the Quick Links. All was good and, again, I am certain I was logged in. I was only logged in for maybe 8 to 10 minutes, not long enough to have a forced log out occur.

I created a new thread complete with an attachment. Previewed it and decided all was well. I hit Submit and it said I had to be logged in to make a post. I lost the the entire post I was working on. Anyway thought you should know about this. Never had it happen before.

I have no idea if this has anything at all to do with these log outs but last Saturday, I think it was, I changed my email account here to my primary one. I verified it but today I got no notifications when my posts had replies so I changed it back to the gmail account that forwards my emails from there to my primary account. I'll see if I still have the logging out problems.
