In Firefox I see this when I put my cursor on the padlock:

Should we be using https?

Unfortunately, we run an older version of the forum software phpBB3 that doesn't play entirely nicely with https. We do have a certificate, though, so you can change http to https in the address bar if you wish. You'll see some error messages that you can ignore, and some interface elements might not display correctly.

No, that's fine!
I seem to remember that some browsers at some point were going to prohibit any website which didn't use/support https...

Most browser will display a warning or a special icon...
