"Dropped" or ignored response
I have used fake smileys before, mainly just to show how clever I am.
But I suppose I have always used a fake smiley with some other text.
I chose Preview, then Submit ("You cannot post another message ...") and used the PgDn key and clicked repeatedly until the sixty-second warning disappears.
Twenty minutes later I click again on the Gmail notification to see if there is any update to the thread and I notice that my response isn't there.
OK. Maybe I screwed up. It might happen one day.
I resubmit it with just the fake smiley, do the wait-sixty-seconds dance, ...
Behold and not lo! it isn't there again.
So I added "Cheers Chris" and it now appears.
It seems as if a response with just quoted text and a fake smiley posted within the sixty second limit is flagged as being non-existent.
(wanders off to TEST to start a thread there)
Cheers
Chris

No, Chris, you're looking at it the wrong way. It's more likely that it's becasue you are a responsible person.ChrisGreaves wrote:[It's my fault
