File size of pictures posted

Hi,
I read the post about the Hawk Moth and was going to post a picture I took of a Hummingbird Moth. I have searched for information as to the file size limits for posting pictures but have not been able to find where it indicates restrictions concerning file type and size.
If someone could point me in the right direction, I will check it out and make sure I am within the limits.
The pic I have is jpg foormat and is 949 KB.

The maximum size for attachments (including pictures) is 250 KB. You'll either have to resize the image to a smaller size (for example, if it's 1024x768 pixels, resize it to 512x384), or save it with a lower quality.
