New Braille Skin Board Style

New Braille Skin Board Style

I had some difficulty finding a post last night with your new Board Style….
Possibly the normal Styles were having some maintenance done, and only the Braille Skin was available :-)

( It most likely is a problem at my end – my old operating system and browsers are dying slowly
This morning all was well… :-) )

It must have been a glitch, either on our server or in your internet connection; we haven't done anything
Best wishes,

I like my older Browser versions. I still get the features that are no longer available on up to date systems.
I see this more and more recently on different computers.

Sometimes I see it on other sites but not often. Mostly when I see it only on Eileen’s Lounge. It is often a feature available at Eileen’s Lounge only , and other tabs to other sites at the same time don’t have it

I like it.
The extra Braille skin still supported by Eileen’s Lounge is nice, pretty, almost beautiful.
( It is not a problem at all. If I close and restart the browser it starts up in one of the normal non Braille Skin options. I just thought I would share the beauty of it, because I bet most people can’t see it, as I do )

Presumably such features are not available in modern browsers because modern browsers are more secure. In other words by continuing to use 'old' versions you are at a higher risk of being bitten by something unpleasant than if you sigh deeply, lament the loss of a feature (because the developer of the lost feature has not updated the flaw in the feature that a modern browser is protecting you from) but then move on .

SING:- The Developers ... they are a changing

Post by Doc.AElstein »

I agree with you mostly, still, but think things are changing. We are seeinng increasingly that, newer or updated things are bringing more and more problems that offset the good things they do. I get the feeling that the “Develpers” are losing control. Or they just change things. They don’t develop so much. Maybe we are just running out of anything new to do, or loose interst in doing it…. Make a computer faster… what happens? … - no one would ever notice. It just get crammed with more things going on that you often don’t know about and wouldn’t particularly want, if you knew about them.
We are encouraged to get quicker internet. We see less and less benefits from it.. Often just means more Ads get squasched in…
Things are a changing… The developers are a changing.. things
Just my opinion :)

More Ads? I never see any ads. I use Firefox in conjunction with the Add-on 'uBlock Origin'.

I must get around to getting clued up about those ad blocker things. The ads cripple some of my older machines. :(

No cluing up necessary, just install it.
:whisper: while other ad-blockers are available. uBlock Origin seems to be the go-to choice at the moment.
