I looked in the usual place but couldn't find the Excel file that lists all the freeware recommended by Loungers.
Maybe I'm suffering from dementia and just don't know it?

Re: What Happened to the Excel File of "Best Free Software .
I am convinced now that I am snakebit.
I follow this trail: Board Index>Other Serious Stuff>Other Applications>Best FREE Software (Used and Rated by Loungers)
and get this screen . . . Although I didn't capture it in the screenshot, it displays page 1 of 1. Is that just for your post? I found the page 1 to 86 (I think) but could only reach the post in the ss.
Like I said, with all the other problems I've had with PCs and wifi, I'm convinced I'm snakebit. OBTW: My pickup won't start either. I'm almost afrain to touch anything.

Hi Bob,
What did you click on when you got to the landing page of "Other Applications"?
If you click on either of the two circled items in the screenshot below, it will take you straight to the last page (where you seemed to land)?
If you click on either of the two square items in the screenshot below, it will take you to the first posts in the thread, the one containing the Excel file.
I'm not quite sure how your page referenced 1 of 1 as there are 16 pages in the thread??

Re: What Happened to the Excel File of "Best Free Software .
When I land on the "Best FREE software ..." page I see this:
Things have definitely been weird for me lately with computers
If I click on the hyperlink or any of the displayed page numbers I get this:
I can find nothing that links me to a page with the spreadsheet link.Things have definitely been weird for me lately with computers

Re: Best FREE Software (Used and Rated by Loungers)
I downloaded and installed Chrome before trying again. After navigating to the "Best FREEware . . . " thread and clicking on the title hyperlink, this is the screen I got:

Bob, I have moved your latest reply from the Best Freeware thread to this one, to avoid cluttering the Best Freeware thread with posts that are not about freeware...

I am afraid I have no idea what causes your problem, or how to solve it. Sorry.

Bob is using the subsilver2 skin.
Bob, I was also going to suggest to try another skin; maybe prosilver and see if that works better?
If that does not resolve, I too am stumped?

I normally use prosilver, but I switched to subsilver2 and didn't experience any problems...

OK, I switched to prosilver and viewed Ron's post in the "Best FREEware . . . " thread. Rudi's Page 1 of 1 post is gone and I see Ron's post as Page 1 of 1.

Bob, does this anomaly on your PC happen in other forums too (or just in Other Applications)?
