Minor quibbles
The board is looking great- congratulations to all for the work which has been put in.
Just a few small points.
1. The member list shows two members who joined on 18 Sep 2003.
2. Stats regarding posts are incorrect. Stats on the user list show mwolfman with 115 posts; board statistics at the bottom of the page show 651 posts.
3. This has bugged me in other forums, but it's even worse now. The "new posts" icon for a thread is very small. With a mouse, that's not a problem. But browsing with a mobile device, it can be very hard to hit. It would be good to have a larger icon, with a little more white space around.
But thanks for everything!

Do you really think we did this without talking to each other or testing?GeoffW wrote: 2. Stats regarding posts are incorrect. Stats on the user list show mwolfman with 115 posts; board statistics at the bottom of the page show 651 posts.

At least you could have left all those posts hanging around. Now, that could have been interesting.
Or are they all in the secret forums?

- When Mike set up the server, the server clock was off. He and I had joined before he noticed the error and corrected.
On the positive side, it means that my average posts per day will remain low for quite some time! - We did some testing before the site went live...
- Modifying the tiny "new posts" icon has already been put on the to-do list.
Best wishes,
Hans

You want me to spend Sunday morning counting them?GeoffW wrote:Or are they all in the secret forums?
They are mainly test posts, draft notices, reminders, technical details, Claude's bank account details, etc. Nothing of really great interest. We burnt the really incriminating stuff yesterday.

BUT we saved a copy of Claude's bank account details. This will be the star prize in our raffle next month.Leif wrote:...We burnt the really incriminating stuff yesterday.

Octocber 2003 - What a great time. We're figuring to go back to Oz when my son is old enough to drink. (18?) He's 10.
Actually, now that I think about it, we may come back sooner without him. Definitely need another Oz pub crawl minus the vegamite.

I'm more interested in Claude's wine cellar details. Hey Claude, any Grange or Hill of Grace?Leif wrote:They are mainly test posts, draft notices, reminders, technical details, Claude's bank account details, etc.

Someone living in Salt Lake City would be especially hankering for the contents of a wine cellar.
Be careful Claude!

Can't you see what they're up to?GeoffW wrote:Stats regarding posts are incorrect. Stats on the user list show mwolfman with 115 posts; board statistics at the bottom of the page show 651 posts.
They want to get a head start in their quest to Uraniumhood Lounger status... the select few... Napoleon and his animal farm buddies.
It's all happening... again... 1984 is upon us!
Where will I go? What will I do?
Oh... I know.
Down to the pub

Re: Minor quibbles
It is a big improvement, thanks.
But the same sort of size as the big monster to the LHS would be better. That would also involve, I guess, some change to the layout of the next line.
It's Australia's national day today. If it can be fixed by England's official national holiday it would be great ;-)

Re: Minor quibbles
I'm sorry, but I think that an icon the size of the thread icon would be very annoying to the 99% who visit Eileen's Lounge from a regular computer.
Best wishes,
Hans

The new icon size works quite well now. Thank you.HansV wrote:I'm sorry, but I think that an icon the size of the thread icon would be very annoying to the 99% who visit Eileen's Lounge from a regular computer.
But, from your comment, perhaps the thread icon is too large and would be annoying to the 99%? ;-)
