Forum Blocked

Post by Gloria E »

Imagine my surprise when trying to reach Microsoft's TechNet Forum, a message appeared that said "IE has blocked this website from displaying content with secrurity certificate errors." I selected "Show Content" but the message kept appearing.

Internet Options > Advanced tab and unchecked "Warn about Certificte address mismatches" (or something to that effect). I still can't reach the forum.

Why would IE block a Microsoft site? Is there something I should check or uncheck to remove the error message?

Which URL did you use? I'm not getting an error message or warning when I visit http://social.technet.microsoft.com/For ... ategories/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; using Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7.
Best wishes,
Hans

By the way, the TechNet forums are primarily intended for IT professionals. Discussions there are often very technical.
The MSDN forums (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums ... categories" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) are for software developers, and the Microsoft Answers forums (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) for end users.
Best wishes,
Hans

I'm not getting the warning today, I don't know what happened, maybe just a fluke or a one time error.

Thanks for trying,

Gloria E

Thanks Hans, I've deleted the TechNet forum from Favorites and will register at Microsoft Answers. I should have realized that TechNet was not for me when I viewed it's topics.
