YouTube Stopped Working for me

Post by BobH »

It used to be that when I took my browser to a link to a YouTube video, the YouTube site showed the video area with controls beneath and the triangle in the vid area to start it. Now I get the vid area all black and no controls underneath.

I suspect that I've trod upon some setting or other or have disabled some software that YouTube needs or have an AV or other malware setting that's blocking it, but I don't know what it is not can I associate the change with any intentional settings changes.

Can anyone suggest things to check to fix this? I'd really like to see the video pointed to in the PowerPoint thread.

TIA

Are you using Fx and if so, what addons do you have installed? I've had some problems with AdBlock Plus but not with YouTube.

I can watch Netflix.

Yes, I'm using Fx 5.0. I'll have to check add ons as I've been trying to get a cookie manager to work.

I checked and the Adobe Flash Player is installed and seems to be OK.

Thanks guys!

I restarted after disabling all add-ons and can watch the vids OK now.

Will have to figure out which one was causing the problem later.
