Hello, suddenly my cursor in Word cannot keep up with my arrow keys, e.g. if I press the right-arrow key five times to navigate through some text, it takes Word a few seconds for the cursor to get there, compared to the usual super-quick and fluid movement it usually displays.
I've updated everything and this hasn't helped. I've also closed and reopened Word and restarted my computer, shut down all other resources, this hasn't helped either.
Why is it suddenly taking Word much longer than usual to accurately move the cursor? It’s making editing documents almost impossible. Can anyone offer a solution or explanation?

Try the following:
Click the Windows Start button.
Type regedit and press Enter.
Windows will ask for permission. Click Yes.
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Graphics
Select Edit > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
A new item will appear in the right-hand pane.
Name it DisableAnimations and set its value to 1.
If you'd rather not edit the registry yourself, download DisableAnimation.reg and open it.
Windows will ask for permission. Click Yes.

Thanks Hans, I've just seen this today and the issue has spontaneously resolved, but next time it occurs I'll give it a try. Also, Happy New Year!
