Repeat last three rows from second page onwards

Post by vilas desai »

Dear Experts,

I need to repeat last three rows from second page onwards and not from the first page itself.
Please see attachment.
No macros please.
Please advise
Best regards

That is not possible.

You could do the following:
On the Page Layout tab of the ribbon, click the arrow in the lower right corner of the Page Setup group.
Activate the Header/Footer tab.
Tick the 'Different first page' check box.
Click OK.
Switch to Page Layout view - you can do this from the status bar or from the View tab of the ribbon.
Enter the information you want in orange in the footer of the first page, and the information you want in blue in the footer of the second page (it will automatically be displayed in subsequent pages too).
Best wishes,
Hans

Tick the 'Different first page' check box.
Elegant solution :clapping: :clapping: under the constraint of "no macros".
One could generalise this by including, in the footer, a reference to a bookmarked chunk of text from somewhere on the first page - it need not be the "last three lines" - and then referencing the bookmarked text from the footer area.
I would post that solution here but I am still on my first :coffee:
Cheers

Vilas, I am sorry to disappoint you.
I wrote an extremely elegant solution, documented it, uploaded it (with a sample attachment in PDF as well), and it was only when I went back to re-read your post that I realised that you wanted a solution in Excel.
My solution was in MSWord!

"Excel doesn't support cell references in headers or footers so you need vb code" is from answers.microsoft.com in response to a question "I would like to be able to display the contents of a cell in the footer of my document."

I particularly liked a point made on another forum, that Excel was not a strong vehicle for reports; Excel is focused on calculations.

Cheers
Chris
