In the old days (pre Win10?) there was a thing called a Start Menu. IIRC, one could put a link (or shortcut?) to a program that one wanted to load and start when Windows was started. I didn't find that easily done in Win 10. My searching found a How-to-Geek article . I tried this without success.
Is this still possible? I want to start my VPN program when windows starts or restarts (so I don't have to remember to start it). If the WIndows-Key/r and shell:startup is the wrong approach, is there anything that I can do to make this happen?
TIA

Bob, I don't know what VPN you use but check to see if it has a settings menu. My VPN gives me the option to launch at Windows start-up (or not) and to launch minimized (or not).

Paul

If you search for "startup", you should see a link to 'Startup Apps':
Is it listed in there with an option to turn it on?

I agree with Paul on this one. Every Windows VPN app that I have used included a settings menu option to auto-start with Windows.
What VPN app are you using?

Hadn't come across this feature before. Thanks for pointing it out, Leif. My VPN is listed there.

Thank you, All!
My VPN is the Mozilla VPN. If it has settings, I couldn't find them.
Leif, the tip ( ) revealed that my VPN is in the startup menu. Now I have to figure out why it is not opening on restart.
Again, thanks to all!
