This Might Apply to All Browsers

Post by BobH »

I'm posting in the Firefox forum because that is my browser of choice.

Does anyone know if, when you close a tab, the browser treats that as closing the browser?

I'm having some websites - youtube in particular - that are not keeping me logged in as they used to do. I'm not deleting history and cookies when I close Firefox (according to my settings in Privacy and Security) and the cookie(s) still appears in the list. I've searched for an answer unsuccessfully.

 :chocciebar: :thankyou:

No, as long as there is still one tab open, the browser is still running.
Do you use Private Windows?
Best wishes,
Hans

Do you have any FireFox extensions installed?

Where are cookies held? where is "INetCookies"
Hi Bob. I have been experiencing the same sort of problem.
I Revo-uninstalled CCleaner on Wednesday 26th (so, four days ago), and have since then NOT lost my site logins, on five financial and two forum sites.

I hope this helps, for it is surely frustrating to have to retype/paste account details.
As I keep saying(grin!), computers were invented to relieve us of the Boring And Repetitive tasks.

The issue no longer exists - at least for YouTube. I revisited settings in Firefox but didn't change anything. I also use Glary Utilities to see what cookies are protected and didn't find anything that I recognized as being YouTube.

Stuart, yes, I have 6 or 8 Fx extensions installed but I have not changed them and the issue has gone away. If it returns, I'll revive this thread.

Thank you all for the responses and assistance.
