Disappearing MS Office Apps

Some while ago, I posted about losing access to Word or Excel. Whichever one it was would not load from the search prompt. The problem has recurred. I cannot load Word today.

I checked the Start menu and found Office but no apps under it. I also searched here for posts I'd made re Office and Word and Excel and failed to find my posts.

IIRC there is a restore process that can be run . . . perhaps from the command prompt or otherwise.

Can anyone help?

I tried to run Repair. Here is how I did it.

Win + X > Apps and Features > Click Microsoft Office Professional 2016 > Click Modify > Click Repair

After the repair process finished, I still could not run Word or Excel. I restarted Windows and still could not start either program. I ran the Repair process again and got this . . .

Do you still have the license key for Office 2016 and the installation file? If so, it might be best to uninstall Office 2016, then to install it again from scratch.

Yes, I'm going to have to reinstall, I think.

Since this appears to be a recurring issue, and is not normal for others, that there is something on this system that is doing this, or action by a user is removing the program(s).

What protective programs are installed?
What was being done before the issue occurs?
